Maintenance Announcement – 27/08/2025

on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, scheduled maintenance will take place from 09:00 to 15:00 CEST (Berlin time).

During this period, our services may be temporarily unavailable. The maintenance includes:

database updates and optimizations
minor adjustments
general system improvements
backand work
backing up the server
adding the patch 1.04

Important Notice:
With this update, we are introducing a new launcher 1.5.0, which will be mandatory for all players. All previous launcher versions will no longer work after the maintenance. Please make sure to install the new launcher in advance.

Changelog

Minor game changes:
- cooldown of Sabex is reduced to 5 min from point of entering
- cooldown of Macellarius Catacombs is reduced to 5 min from point of entering
- GG was reactivated

Events:
- 3x EXP event running till 31.08.2025
- 2x DROP event running till 31.08.2025
- Festival of the sun running till 15.09.2025
- Blood banket running till 15.09.2025

Launcher Update — Action Required (Aug 27, 2025)

What’s changing

All players must use the new launcher.
The launcher will create a Windows Defender exclusion for your TERA folder only (e.g. C:\TERA\) to avoid false positives during the transition. You can review/remove it anytime in Windows Security.
We plan to sign the launcher with a code-signing certificate next week. Once signed, Windows will show a verified publisher and SmartScreen/Defender prompts should decrease.
Improved process handling so the launcher opens the game more reliably (fewer stuck starts / focus issues).

TERA Shop

TERA Shop is back.

Shinra

Shinra integration is in the works. No ETA yet.

Security

Backend hardening + additional checks implemented.

Latency

Netcode / gateway tuning deployed. Needs testing

Toolbox Status

Toolbox is not compatible with this build. A fix is being investigated; no ETA right now.
If Toolbox cannot be restored quickly, we may integrate key QoL Mod features directly into the launcher.

Quick FAQ

Game stuck on “Fate of Arun” / server list not loading → Log out in the launcher, then log back in.
Can’t select a server after returning to the server screen → Fully restart the game client.
Toolbox throws errors at launch → Toolbox is not supported in the current build.

Transparency & Safety

Scope: The Defender exclusion applies only to your TERA install folder (e.g., C:\TERA\).
Control: You can view, change, or remove it anytime. (Removing it may prevent the game from launching until code-signing is in place.)

How to review/remove the Defender exclusion (Windows 10/11)

Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection
Click Manage settings under Virus & threat protection settings
Scroll to Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions
View, edit, or remove the TERA folder exclusion
