I've heard that once in a while a promo code with tera coins is given to players through events or something (or at least was before), is that still a thing?
If true, where those codes are published when that happens? here on the forums? discord?

The last few codes were all given either to a streamer for his community or as a mini event.
When a streamer gets a code, the code normally gets published via these boards every player can buy and place and of course the stream. The last few times the boards were placed in Highwatch and Velika.
As for events they get either announced via Discord or via the before mentioned boards in HW and Velika. The last two events were mini hide and seeks, where the code was either written on a board or the name of a pet that stood beside a gm
These codes are usually just about a day or two active, so you need to redeem them as you get them

Yes most of the codes are still working
but the highest chance would be if you watch a streamer that play on our server and ask him about his promo code But sometimes a GM will hide somewhere and if you find him you maybe can get a code too
Where can I find those streamers?
I mean, where they do streaming? discord? twitch? -
If someone streams on this server, he will most likely announce it in the discord in the Stream Announcement chat
