  • Serious talk about new patch (2.0)

    Hello everyone,

    If you've been playing the game since the server release you know me. I'm Bangbang, girtabulu, masquarade, marie-cécile etc...

    Here are my thoughts on the new patch and the fate of the game.


    Pros

    • fixed line for gear and jewelery
    • main hub is easy to use
    • instant lvl 65 and gear

    Cons

    • Desync on regular basis
    • unstable ping
    • weird class balence choices (like random and poorly made choices)
    • weird boss balence choices (some hits do 85%to a lancer when they shoulden't, other deals 2k dmg when they should OS)
    • shinra dosen't work anymore
    • no french option
    • I have no clue what even are the new items or where to get them and where to use them
    • You don't have to look for bugs, they'll find you
    • feels like a whole new server but I wanted to play tera europe hence why I dl tera europe...

    I wish we just got updates, new gear, jewelery, dungeons etc... insted we got swaped to another server. Unless we have a revert or a patch that fixes all of the above I don't see the server surviving another year, or even more than 3 months to be honest...

    I know my words wont reach out to anyone that can change the situation, but still, I'm posting it knowing I did my best for the game to not die. It feels like saying to a loved one to not drink and drive the night before they get car accident.

    The issue of previous server was players leaving because they found nobody to play.

    I don't see a world where new players would stay on that server with all its flaws listed above. For the first time in a while I don't see a world where the server still exists in 3 months. It has been released yesterday and I hardly have seen players group happy with their experience.

    I'm tired of finding servers only to see them die, I guess it's time to let Tera go it's been declared dead for many years now, maybe it's time to accept it's dead, even if I doubt I'll ever find a game with as great a potential of tera.


    I'm leaving this note, not to brag saying "I told you so" when the end eventually comes, but for those who'll come after, to let them understand what has gone wrong and how to prevent that. I truly believes the previous server was inches away from greatness, if only they were any communication on facebook, X, reddit etc... and in game event, dungeon rotation,. active GM who actually play the game and understand the community we could have gotten a real player base.

    It will probably be my last post here. So here are my last words, to whoever reads this I hope for once I'll be proven wrong but if not, please bring back the game I loved and grew up with.

    to whoever played with me thank you for making my world a little brighter and I hope our pathes cross anew in this life or another.

  • New Player looking for beginner friendly class to try

    I kinda disagree so I'll make the list of my own

    I'll rank every dps by difficulty


    Easy

    Valk : easiestt class to pick up: one rotation that never changes for burst, no random resets, a pretty clear objective for how to dps and balder tears allow to facetank anything that could have stopped you to DPS


    Ninja : pretty easy to pick up: burst has few variations. they're a few offensive skills to play with out of burst. it has some little tricks to gain dps (mainly dc->reverse sf between shuriken boomrang) but they aren't really hard in general


    warrior (dps) : easy to pick up hard to master. you litterally just have to learn one chart to know what to do the limiting factor beeing how fast you react to your BD resets, this class has so much mobility and dmg reduction it's hard to die


    Hard

    Zerk : conceptually not that hard to use : charge your spell, use some skills during cyclone resets to not waste time. has a surprisingly correct mobility but few dodges meanning you have to position well to avoid dying. their burst is pretty simple to do tho.


    reaper : weirdest class to play. has great potential but needs you to understand all of what it can do. can be cdr locked if not careful.


    archer : the difficulty of the class is surviving while dealing dmg, with awake you're given a spell that's both a curse and a blessing as it uses stamina to deal dmg and buff your other spells but stamina if required to avoid hits. Archer is also the only dps class that should always be at 6-8meters from boss, having to deal with a lot of mechs specifically made to hurt them


    Gunner : lots of animation cancel and camera tricks. the worst mobility of the game. uses dodges to gain dps.


    Sorc : has the higher number of useful dps spell of the game and has mechanics from many classes, must also know at all time the elements it will get for next fusion as there's a 20% dmg boost for alternating them, manage their crit glyphe via nova/arcan pulse, manage the blooslust of their spell as their spell prio is dependant on the target's HP. just like war/reaper has a reset on two of it's best spells. some spells reduces the cd of others. Has good mobility and lots of tools, dmg reduction, kd/push mitigation, sleep for baharr skelly, stun, immobile dodge.


    Slayer : no fixed rotation, many spell reduces the cd of other spells, rely on the reset of one of it's spell, has the best dodge in the game. Moves a lot because one of it's best offensive spell is a two time dash that allows to chain ANYspell for a short duration. played well it can match the dps of average classes, else it's always bottom.


    ____


    Healers

    Priest : traditional healer, spam the tornado to reduce your ult, your ult locks you out of some spells but gives you other tricks to heal/prevent kd. tankier than the mystic


    Mystic : rely a lot on pets and target heal to heal everyone. also has offensive pets that you shoulden't put in front of the boss or behind him as it body block. got 2 tps to dodge things.

    Overall the priest is easier to play, due to their dodge differences they're some dg where avoiding is easier for one or for another.

    Tank


    Brawler : medium dmg, no buff, some classes can barely burst with a brawler as a tank. passively block hits. its dps is dependant on the boss auto attack pattern. Overall lack mobility in higher dg and can be harder to play than the other tanks.

    war tank: block passively most of the time, manual block gives 1 stack and block chains into BD. dps wise is better than brawler against 95% of dg, also gives a nice boost to attack speed

    lancer: lowest dps of them all, has to manually block most hits, has a lot of utility tricks as 2 of its awakening spells are support spells. some classes benefits greatly from a lancer.

  • Me and Myself

    Yup lie if it's 3 6 9.

    In french it's called "Plateau trompeur" which means something like "treacherous plateau".

    The dungeon is fine and functionning but like many others it has old rewards and hp of last iteration. here I'd say it's between 439 and 448 ilvl; might even be a 453.


    One day if we get enough population I'd love to do a trip into every old raid/dungeons and have a little fun there.


    Btw I think WH might still be a gold gear raid with shandra manaya's mech on the 1st real boss. could be fun to do at least once.

    I've made a guild gathering newer player togater to revitalize the server and allow newer player to find groups and play, but currently they're not a lot of players lvl 70 in it. The more player will join the easier it will be to find groups.

    I crafted theme for some of my charaters (for streaming) but sharing only music feels Meh, so Thought about doing 3d animation + music but my potato PC can't handle it.

    So i'm making a Lightnovel style little story for Girtabulu with basic html/css/js.

  • Making a universal HPM reader for everyone

    So that pretty much locks the issue, I wont share the source code and that's the reason why I made an .exe out of it (since with the source you could easily analyze the runs of everyone it's one foreach loop away from doing it and people could get toxic over it). I don't really see a way to solve the issue.

    I get why you would be concerned about security issues, tho since it's hosted on github you woulden't be the entity that have to answer from it.And since it only does local calculations with very restricted use input the security risk is low, yet you shoulden't take my words for it ^.^). As you know, I could be a evil hacker in disguise or something like that...


    But I get your point, it's too bad for the players who would have benefited from it. I guess that's life.

    dear diary today I've heard of a legend talking about the 1st barakas than ever walked the earth, legend says he know everything that ever were. If those rumors are true he must know what happended to my sister, who nobody remembers us and if somebody else has memories of another world. I'm so excited I know I wont be able to sleep tonight, I'll launch a great search as soon as I get my official rank to "major of the velika's army".

    dear diary with the recent attack of the argons on highwatch I will have to make a choice, either stay in the army and hope the matter calms down fast enough or leave it and become an ennemi of the velika's army.

    - day 18739
    dear diary it turns out the argon's attack on highwatch was in fact a devan's attack. My division is no longer needed in the north-est. While I was in highwatch I've learned a little more about the 'first bornt barakas'. Every hundred years he has to watch for the seal of balder's tomb then he mysteriously disapear. He should come back in about 12 years, I'll mark this day on my calendar.

    dear diary the first bornt barakas was seen today again by many peoples coming out of baldera without altering the seel at all. While I'm can't help but feeling excited about this news I am a little surprise he's been seen so early before the day I expected him to show up, something very important must be going on.

    dear diary yesterday as I traveled to baldera I've interrogated a lot of people on the mysterious barakas sighting. Sadly it turns out it was a regular barakas who somehow ended up in baldera, I wonder how he did it without altering the seal. I've watched the seal myself and while I am not as good as my sister with magic I can say withtout a shadow of a doubt he diden't left any mark on the seal yet he left footprints in the zone where the time stoped millenias ago I'll need to find him, even if he's not the one I am looking for, such a strong individual must know some useful thing for my quest. Also I've rescued a castanic from kaiator from basilics. While she looked terrified and defenseless I can feel in her the same the same kind of innerstrenght that general warakas has, though I don't think she can get to his level.

    dear diary I've managed to get the official autorisation to look for the first bornt barakas but first I'll search for the one who crossed baldera

    dear diary the last 24h a lot of things happended. First, I've found the barakas that endeded up in baldera. she calls herself Mariecécile and she claims to have been reincarnated by some strange forces.


    When I asked her more details she told me more about the incantations she heard and I have no doubt my sisters played a part in her resurection. The song she heard, it was the sound of my sister.

    Why the hell is she resurecting random barakas but diden't sent any news for Shara's know how long. I also have met someone else with memories of the futur, we compared our memories and now I know for sure, everything I remember really DID happend. That lancer also remembers a figure that looks a lot like my sister and I can't help but wonder, did my sister knew of all that? and what is she planning for us?

    I've always been a pawn in her hands but I am afraid she's casually playing with the whole world.
