TERA Server Rules

This policy defines mandatory conduct, integrity, and enforcement standards for all users of our services.

PolicyHierarchy & Authority

  • These rules apply to all official server spaces and services across in-game, Discord, and the forum.
  • If there is any conflict between versions, the Forum Rules + Penalty Catalogue are the source of truth.
  • Staff may issue event-specific or emergency rules to protect gameplay, security, or community safety.
  • Cross-platform conduct may be enforced when it is targeted, verifiable, and materially impacts our community.

KeyDefinitions

Harassment Targeted hostile behavior that intimidates, degrades, or disrupts another player’s experience.
Exploit Use of unintended mechanics, bugs, or glitches for advantage.
Automation / Botting Any tool or setup that performs gameplay actions without direct manual control.
Input Broadcasting One input controlling multiple clients simultaneously.
RMT Any real-money exchange for in-game currency, items, services, carries/boosts, or accounts.

1General Interaction

  • Respect and Courtesy: Treat other players and staff with respect.
    • Prohibited: insults, discrimination, hate speech, slurs, harassment, stalking, threats, intimidation, dogpiling, baiting, or toxic provocation.
  • Constructive Criticism: Allowed only when factual, respectful, and solution-oriented. Bad-faith disruption framed as “feedback” is prohibited.
  • No Spam: No advertising, repetitive messages, flooding, excessive pinging, or disruptive emote/reaction/image spam.
  • Cross-Platform Conduct: Targeted harassment connected to our community may be enforced when it affects player safety, staff operations, or community stability.

2Content & Language

  • Topic Relevance: Keep posts relevant to the channel/thread/topic.
  • SFW Only:
    • Prohibited: pornography/explicit sexual content, hate/extremist content, graphic gore, or content promoting violence/illegal activity.
  • No Facilitation: Do not post instructions or encouragement for cheating, exploits, or security bypass.
  • Language and Expression: Use clear, respectful language. Avoid aggressive caps-lock and inflammatory escalation.
  • Sensitive Topics: Political/volatile debates that derail official channels may be restricted or removed.
  • Streaming & Content Creation: Allowed, but must not promote cheats, share exploit steps, or mobilize harassment/witch hunts.

3Rights & Privacy

  • Copyright: Share only content you own or have permission to post. Credit sources where required.
  • Protect Privacy: No sharing personal information without explicit consent.
Doxxing, attempted doxxing, or threats to expose private information are treated as severe violations.

4Moderation & Support

  • Respect Moderators: Follow staff instructions. Do not argue moderation decisions publicly.
  • Appeals: Use private support/tickets only.
  • Reports: Report violations via official tools. No witch hunting or public accusation campaigns.
  • Support Conduct: No ticket spam, staff abuse, or false/misleading reports.
  • Staff Standards: Staff are held to the same rules. Abuse of privileged access is prohibited.
Appeals, reports, and rule questions must be submitted via the Support / Ticket System . Public disputes or callouts may be removed.

5Behavior in Conflicts

  • Stay objective: Use objective arguments without personal attacks.
  • Mediation: If a conflict cannot be resolved, contact a moderator.

6Technical Rules

6.1 Use of User Accounts

  • Account limit: Each player may own and use up to three (3) accounts. Additional accounts to bypass limits are prohibited.
  • Password security: No account sharing. You are responsible for all actions on your accounts.
  • Ban evasion: Any attempt to circumvent enforcement may result in action against all linked accounts.

6.2 Content Integrity

  • No manipulation: Do not edit/delete posts, tickets, or logs to mislead staff/players or conceal violations.
  • Accurate reporting: Bug reports and support requests must be truthful.

6.3 Game Mechanics & Third-Party Tools

  • Strictly prohibited: Exploits, cheats, bots, automation scripts, input broadcasting/replication, or unauthorized software/hardware providing unfair advantages.
  • Mods: Cosmetic/UI-only mods may be allowed if they do not automate gameplay or reveal hidden information. Anything influencing gameplay is not.
  • Exploit disclosure: Report serious exploits privately. Do not share steps publicly.

6.4 Multi-Account / Multibox Policy

  • Allowance: Within the three-account limit, multiboxing is allowed only in Overworld and Solo dungeons/instances.
  • Active play required: Manual control of each character. No automation, macroing for advantage, or input broadcasting. No AFK reward farming.
  • Not permitted: Multiboxing in Instance Matching or Battlegrounds. Only one actively played character may queue/participate.
Allowed
Running up to three accounts in the Overworld or a Solo dungeon, manually controlling each.
Not allowed
Queuing two or more of your own characters in matched dungeons or battlegrounds, or mirroring inputs via software/hardware.

6.5 Enforcement

  • Violations may lead to warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.
  • Attempts to circumvent limits or restrictions may result in action against all related accounts.
  • The team reserves the right to act on suspicious patterns consistent with automation or unfair advantage.

7In-Game Rules

  • Fair Play: No griefing, trolling, deliberate sabotage, or repeated disruption of others’ gameplay.
  • Trading and Communication: No scamming or misleading offers.
  • Events: Follow event-specific rules. Sabotaging official events or harassing participants may result in stronger penalties.
  • RMT and Account Trading: Buying/selling in-game currency, items, services, carries, boosts, or accounts for real money is prohibited.
  • Economy Manipulation: Coordinated exploit-based inflation, scam networks, or disruptive abuse of systems may be penalized.

8Consequences for Rule Violations

  • Warning for minor violations.
  • Temporary time-out / suspension for repeated or serious violations (forum, Discord, or in-game).
  • Permanent bans for severe or repeated rule violations.
  • Illegitimately obtained items/currency/progress may be removed.
Context may include intent, impact, evidence, and prior history in line with the Penalty Catalogue .

9Discord & Forum Profiles / Names

  • Profiles must not include sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise offensive content.
  • Applies to name, pronouns section, about me, profile picture, and banner.
  • Inappropriate character, guild, or account names may be required to change.

10Third-Party Mods/Programs

Private Toolbox is not supported. Some mods within it are not permitted. Use at your own risk.

Permitted Programs

  • Mudfish

Prohibited Mods/Programs (Examples)

  • Mods/macros that automate the game in whole or in part (botting).
  • AHK/MacroMaker and similar automation tools.
  • Auto-cast/auto-target mods (e.g., auto-heal).
  • Fast mods, auto-retaliate, instant revive, or any speed/attack/skill rate manipulation beyond intended limits.
  • Skill replacers that bypass intended cooldown/logic.
  • Anti-CC/knockdown immunity or other mods granting control-loss immunity.
  • Anti-body block or mods that remove body block.
  • Intentional exploit/desync abuse.
  • Mods/macros that perform impossible actions.
  • Teleport mods of any kind.

11Evidence Standard

  • Enforcement may be based on logs, security telemetry, screenshots, video, and staff investigation.
  • Fabricated or manipulated evidence may result in penalties.

This standard supports consistent moderation and fair appeals handling.

12Changes to the Rules

  • Rules may be updated to protect server integrity and community safety.
  • It is your responsibility to regularly review updates.
  • Continued use after publication of changes constitutes acceptance.

13NOTICE / Discretion Clause

  • We may take action against behavior that is clearly harmful to the community or server integrity, even if not listed verbatim here.
  • Severe violations may result in penalties without prior warning.
  • Penalty details are published in the FAQ / Penalty Catalogue.
