Rules of behavior for forum and in-game

To ensure a friendly and respectful atmosphere in the forum and in TERA, we ask all users to comply with the following rules. These rules apply equally to the forum and to all interactions in the game.

1. General tone of voice

  • Respect and politeness: Treat other players and forum users with respect and politeness. Insults, discrimination, provocation or toxic behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Constructive feedback: Criticism is welcome, but it must always be formulated in a factual and solution-oriented manner.
  • No Spam: Avoid posts or messages that consist of advertising, repetitive content or irrelevant topics.

2. Content and tone of voice

  • Topic relevance: Make sure your posts are relevant to the topic of the thread or discussion.
  • No inappropriate content: Content that promotes violence, hatred, pornography, illegal activities or other inappropriate topics is prohibited.
  • Language and expression: Use clear, understandable and respectful language. Avoid shouting (excessive capitalization) and excessive use of emoticons.

3. Rights and privacy

  • Copyright: Only publish content to which you own the rights or correctly indicate the source.
  • Protect privacy: It is strictly forbidden to share personal data of other players or users without their express consent.

4. Moderation

  • Respect moderators: Moderators and their decisions must be accepted. Discussions about moderation measures should not be conducted publicly, but privately.
  • Reports: Rule violations should be reported using the reporting function instead of publicly commenting on or denouncing them.

5. Behavior in case of conflicts

  • Stay objective: In discussions and conflicts, factual argumentation without personal attacks is required.
  • Mediation: If a conflict cannot be resolved, contact a moderator who can intervene to mediate.

6. Technical rules

  • Use of user accounts: Each player may only have 3 user accounts. Sharing passwords is not permitted.
  • Edit posts: Do not edit or delete posts to distort discussions or leave misleading information.
  • Game mechanics: The use of exploits, cheats, bots or other unauthorized tools is strictly prohibited and will lead to serious consequences.

7. In-game specific rules

  • Fairplay: Play fairly and avoid deliberately disrupting the gaming experience of others, e.g. by griefing, trolling or deliberate sabotage.
  • Trade and communication: Avoid scamming (fraud) or misleading offers in retail and pay attention to polite communication.
  • Events: Adhere to event-specific rules set by the moderators or event managers.

8. Consequences of rule violations

  • Warning notice: A warning may be issued for minor infringements.
  • Temporary timeout: Repeated or serious violations can lead to a temporary suspension of the account (forum or in-game).
  • Permanent Ban: Serious or repeated breaches of the rules can lead to a permanent ban.
  • Reimbursement: Content or progress gained by breaking the rules may be removed.

9. Changes to the rules

The rules of behavior may be modified or expanded at any time and without prior notice. It is the responsibility of players and users to keep themselves regularly informed of changes.

By using the forum and playing TERA, you agree to abide by these rules and commit to treating the community with respect and contributing to a positive atmosphere.
